Paul S. Cianci, P.E.

Paul S. Cianci, P.E. graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from M.I.T in 1956.  After three years as an Engineering Officer in the Air Force and obtaining the rank of Captain, Paul was employed by a Windsor, CT based Engineering firm. In 1962, he took over the responsibilities of Engineering and Product Design at the Champlin Company in Hartford, CT.  In 1973, Paul became Vice-President of Mayo & Cianci, P.C., a Code Consulting and Structural Engineering firm, located in Hartford, CT.  Paul then founded Cianci and Cianci Consulting Structural Engineers in 1986 with his son Carl, where they worked as partners until 1995 when Paul fully retired. Carl continues to run the firm and it is now known as Cianci Engineering, LLC.

Paul was an avid sailor and had many outside and civic activities, including but not limited to being a member of the Mended Hearts, Inc., a member of the cardiac Rehabilitation Committee of the American Hearth Association, a M.I.T. Education Counselor, Past President of the M.I.T. Club of Hartford, and past commodores of the Niantic Bay Yacht Club and the Crescent Cruising Club.  
After his retirement, Paul worked for two years and fully restored this Pearson 38. When the project was completed, the boat was appropriately named "Therapy"
